WASHINGTON, D.C. – October marks the start of the 21st annual Cyber Security Awareness Month and the “Secure Our World” campaign, which is sponsored by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and emphasizes the importance of protecting our personal and business data. As always, the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) encourages everyone to continue to practice good cyber hygiene, apply security patches as soon as possible, and become members of the E-ISAC so they can share cyber incident information with the E-ISAC and its security community.
“The reliable delivery of electricity is essential to every aspect of our lives and our economy. The complex grid security landscape requires continuous vigilance and agility,” said Manny Cancel, NERC senior vice president and E-ISAC CEO. “The threat landscape is constantly evolving and presents persistent cyber (and physical) security threats from diverse, sophisticated, and capable adversaries, all who possess the capability to disrupt critical infrastructure in North America. NERC and the E-ISAC support National Cybersecurity Awareness month and will continue to raise awareness in the face of the threats we face each and every day.”
The E-ISAC offers its members a secure online Portal for actionable information sharing and expert analysis on cyber and physical security incidents, and much more, including participation in exclusive briefings, programs and conferences. To become an E-ISAC member, apply here.
We all have a role to play in securing our interconnected North American grid and keeping the lights on.
